This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) explains how Beron Intelligence (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile application Before Upload and our website. By using our services, you agree to this Policy.

1. What We Collect

Depending on your use of the app and website, we may collect:

  • Account information: name and email from Google Sign-In.
  • Subscription status: premium entitlement (active, expiry), product ID, platform.
  • Purchase verification data: purchase tokens or receipts for validation with Google Play or Apple.
  • Device and usage data: app version, device/OS info, crash logs, aggregated usage counts.
  • Advertising identifiers: as provided by your device/Google services for ads (AdMob).
  • Website data: IP address, browser details, pages viewed, and cookies (see “Cookies”).

2. How We Handle Your Photos

  • On-device processing: Before Upload analyzes and removes photo metadata entirely on your device using native OS APIs. Images and their metadata are not uploaded to our servers.
  • Saving/sharing: When you choose to save or share, files are written to your device (e.g., Photos on iOS or Downloads/BeforeUpload on Android) or sent to apps you select. We do not retain copies on our servers.

3. How We Use Information

  • Provide and improve core features (image metadata cleaning, save/share flows).
  • Authenticate users (Google Sign-In) and manage entitlements (Freemium/Premium).
  • Verify purchases with app stores via secure server-side validation.
  • Show ads to Free users (AdMob); Premium users see no ads.
  • Maintain security, prevent fraud/abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
  • Communicate service updates and important notices.

4. Legal Bases (EEA/UK)

  • Contract: to provide the app and purchases you request.
  • Legitimate interests: to secure and improve our services.
  • Consent: where required for personalized ads/cookies; you may withdraw at any time.

5. Advertising (AdMob)

We use Google AdMob to display ads to Freemium users. AdMob may use identifiers and cookies to deliver, measure, and improve ads. You can limit ad tracking in device settings and manage ad personalization via Google Ad Settings.

6. Purchase Verification

To grant Premium, we validate purchases with Google Play or Apple. The app sends a token/receipt to our secure backend for verification with the respective store; on success, your entitlement is updated. We do not receive your payment card details.

7. Sharing of Information

  • Service providers: We use trusted processors including Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Functions), Google AdMob, and Play/App Store billing tools.
  • Legal: We may disclose information to comply with law or protect rights, safety, and property.
  • No selling: We do not sell personal information.

8. Data Retention

  • User profile/entitlement: stored in Firebase Firestore while your account remains active or as required by law.
  • Local usage counts: stored on your device; deleting the app removes local data.
  • Photos: not stored on our servers.

9. Your Choices & Rights

  • Access, update, or request deletion of your account data (contact us below).
  • Revoke Google Sign-In access via your Google Account settings.
  • Manage ad personalization in device settings and Google Ad Settings; EEA/UK users may be shown a consent prompt.
  • Opt out of marketing emails (if any) via unsubscribe links.
  • Regional rights (e.g., EEA/UK/California) may include portability or restriction of processing.

10. Security

We employ administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect data, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method is 100% secure; we continually improve our protections.

11. Cookies (Website)

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate and improve the website, analyze traffic, and for security. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may impact site functionality.

12. Children’s Privacy

Before Upload is not directed to children under 16 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us to remove it.

13. International Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries outside your own (e.g., the United States). Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for such transfers.
